About the .au Dispute Resolution Search Database

The .au Dispute Resolution Search Database is a free resource for searching administrative proceedings determined under the .au Dispute Resolution Policy (auDRP) (2008-01).

As the database in still in the stage of testing, we would appreciate your comments and suggestions in helping us to improve the design and functionality of the database. For further information in that regard, please contact Lujia Chen, Policy Research Assistant at lujia.chen@auda.org.au.

Helpful Tips

The database is organised primarily by:

Proceeding No

This search field allows you to find a specific case by its proceeding no. (i.e. WIPO-DAU2002-0001; LEADR-auDRP01/03; IAMA-2351; CIArb-07/01).

It is also quite useful if you want to find out all proceedings handled by a particular auDRP provider. For example, to find out all proceedings handled by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), simply type in “WIPO”.

Date Commenced/Decided

This search field allows you to find a specific proceeding if you know the exact date of when it was commended or decided.

Please note that currently you will not be able to search for proceedings commenced or decided in a certain period (eg. from June 2002 to June 2003). Please refer to the full list of auDRP proceedings for information in that regard.

Panelist

This search field allows you to find proceedings determined by particular arbitrator.

It is not necessary to know the full name of the particular arbitrator. A partial name (i.e. the first or last name) of an arbitrator will also work.

Domain name

This search field allows you to find proceedings in regards to an .au domain name. This is particularly useful if you know or have an idea of what the .au domain name is.

Please note to enter the domain name as domainname.com.au and not www.domainname.com.au.

Again, it is not necessary to know the exact domain name as partial searches may also work.

Complainant/Respondent

This search field allows you to find proceedings in relation to a particular Complainant or Respondent.

Key Issues

This search field is a good place to start if you just want to find proceedings that are related to a particular issue. Remember that it is not necessary to type in the exact wording you are looking for.

Some examples of key issues include:

  • generic, descriptive domain name
  • multiple Complainants or Respondents
  • inactive use of domain name
  • no response filed
  • Respondent offered domain name for sale

Outcomes

This search field is useful if you want to find out the outcome of the proceedings.

There are three outcomes of the proceedings:

  • domain transferred to the Complainant;
  • decision for the Respondent; and
  • domain name cancelled

Other Notes

For the full list of auDRP proceedings please refer to the auDRP Proceedings Archive

Please note that auDA's role is to facilitate and oversee the administration of the auDRP complaints-handling mechanism. We are unable to provide advice or assistance in relation to specific auDRP complaints.  Decisions by auDRP arbitrators do not necessarily represent the views of auDA.
