Discussion:
1. Policy Implications arising from ETHOS reports
NRG members considered proposed responses to the policy implications arising from the ETHOS reports. All responses were agreed and will be implemented by auDA (subject to decisions by the auDA Board on the future of community geographic 2LDs).
2. National single entry point proposal
NRG members noted that discussions have commenced between NSW OICT, DCITA and auDA regarding a possible national single entry point for community geographic domain names.
3. Next steps
The ETHOS reports will be considered by the auDA Board on 11 October, along with a final report from the NRG. auDA will advise NRG members and OCOS test case communities of the outcome.
It was agreed that the NRG has no further role in the implementation of community geographic 2LDs. NRG members with an ongoing interest in the issues were invited to join the general public mail list on geographic names.
