If you no longer want your domain name, you can ask your registrar of record to delete it for you. Your domain name will be held in "pending delete" status for 3 days, and will then be immediately dropped from the registry.

Yes, provided you are the current registrant of the domain name, and the other entity is eligible to hold the domain name under normal eligibility and allocation rules for .au domain names. See auDA's Transfers (Change of Registrant) Policy (2011-03).
