.au Registry
The registry comprises the following:
- a database of domain names registered in each 2LD
- a public WHOIS service for looking up the identity of the registrant of a domain name
- the computers for each 2LD.
AusRegistry Pty Ltd is the registry operator for seven 2LDs. These are asn.au, com.au, edu.au, gov.au, id.au, net.au and org.au.
Following an open tender process in 2005, auDA signed a new 4 year licence agreement with AusRegistry to commence on 1 July 2006.
