Subject: Geographic names

As Chairperson of Bathurst Community Website, Inc, an applicant for 
the new domain name bathurst.nsw.au, I am disturbed at the proposal 
by auDA to release the geographic names under the .com.au 
and .net.au categories.  Such an action will render the value of our 
intended name considerably.  Geographic names belong to the 
community, and as such should never be traded as a commercial 
entity.  I entreat auDA to continue its previous policy of refusing 
to make geographic names available other than in the context of 
genuine community ownership.
