That the scope of the whois policy principles be broadened to mention that the purpose of the whois should also be to allow existing registrants the ability to establish the current status of their domain name. 2. That a new field is created for whois output to indicate if the registration is currently managed through an appointed Reseller to ensure that support for the domain be obtained through the reseller instead of directly through the registrar. My justification for these changes is from the position as a reseller with a significant number of client domain names under management. It has been our experience that registrants regularly seek support via the registrar for domain names that were organised through ouselves as the reseller based soley what they see in the whois output. This communication breakdown leads to delays and confusion when serving the registrant. I propose for these changes be in effect from July 1, 2006. Regards, Anthony
