Should the restriction on geographic names in com.au and net.au be removed - ie. should people be allowed to register geographic names in com.au and net.au? If so, why? I believe strongly that it should be removed. I think this is an artificial restriction which serves no clear purpose. The fact that the domain names sydney.com.au, melbourne.com.au etc have existed for over 8 years both totally undermines the existence of this restriction and shows that there is no inherent advantage to the registrant of a geographic domain name. thanks Jon Lawrence
