Hi Jo

auDA's policy for Transfers (Change of Registrar) is ridiculous and laughable at best.

Why is it that when a transfer (of registrar) is processed, the registrant is required 
to pay again and have the registration period recommenced - when their registration with 
the previous registrar is still valid? This is unfair for registrants and unworkable for 
resellers and registrars, nor does it encourage competition among registrars. If you must 
charge for transfer (of registrar), you should EXTEND the period of registration not 
recommence!

Most transfers (com.au) I have been involved with are for changing of registrars NOT 
registrants. Your policy does not cater for this fact, hence you're charging the same 
registrant all over again. Your current policy should only be applied to transfer of 
REGISTRANT - though debatable.
