Expanding the .au 2LD space should not be taken off in tangents. Currently we see that many registrants are confused and bewildered in how to protect naming right on the internet. Australia has a unique opportunity to expand the .au domain name and at the same time keeping it simple for your registrants to decide on the best way to go. Newly developed .biz and .info registries would enhance the .au domain space and keep registrants with set frames that can be followed when thinking of a name for a new company or branding due to current availability. 3.1 New "open" 2LD a. biz.au b. -To Open up the namespace in au. -To provide commercial enterprise name space protection that currently exists in .com/.net/.org gTLD space. i.e company.biz & company.biz.au -To keep global standards that are non restricted and would be commercially viable in Australia. c. Current companies & trademark holders that hold of .biz domain names. d. Selection criteria would be the same as the .com.au and .net.au domain space. e. Eligibility criteria would be the same as the .com.au and .net.au domain space. f.
