From: Michael Purse Sent: Wednesday, 31 August 2005 7:02 AM To: jo.lim@auda.org.au Subject: Domain Name Password Policy Review Submission Jo, Following auDA's call for public submissions for the Domain Name Password Policy Review, I wish to put forward the following: Clause 4.3 of the Domain Name Password Policy Review should be amended to provide consumers with more security. To quote a portion of that clause: "For the purposes of this policy, "written authorisation" means a hard copy letter, facsimile or PDF document signed by the registrant, or in the case of a corporate registrant, signed by a senior manager, company director, company secretary (or equivalent of these positions) of the registrant, on corporate letterhead." This should be amended to require that the written authorisation be in the form of a statutory declaration, witnessed, signed, and stamped by a Justice of the Peace, claiming ownership of the domain in question. I call for this change to be made immediately, and all further written requests from October 1, 2005 meet this requirement before a password is released. Regards, Michael Purse
