Point 3.2 states that auDA policy is attempting to reduce customer churn. Why? That is the problem of the service provider, not the governing body. If a service provider is losing customers, they must look at their product offerings and levels of service and find the root cause of their customer's frustrations. Fix them and regain consumer confidence. Implementing a policy protecting the service provider by penalising a customer for taking their business elsewhere is clearly unacceptable. point 3.1b) " the registrant must renew their domain name licence when the transfer takes place (ie. the registrant receives a new 2 year domain name licence from the gaining registrar, which takes effect from the date of transfer)." In no other industry in the world will you find such inhibiting regulations where a customer's choice of service provider is concerned. If the market is to be truly competitive, the registrant cannot be penalised in any way, shape or form for excercising their freedom of choice.
