In 2022, we will profile .au members across a range of diverse industries and locations, to support virtual member networking.
This month, we hear from Olena Lima, Founder and Principal Consultant at MemberBoat on why she chose the .au and how to stay current on innovation and online trends.

Can you tell us about your company/role?
MemberBoat is a Sydney-based digital marketing agency that helps professional associations, industry bodies and other membership organisations embrace digital marketing tools and simplify their transformation journey.
Why do you choose .au?
First and foremost, to show that we’re an Australian business, so for potential clients it’s the first sign that the business is registered and operating in Australia. On top of that, Google ranks local domains higher.
How do you stay current on innovation and online trends?
Digital innovation is our business focus. To stay on top of the market trends, daily I read specialised media, listen to podcasts and regularly attend industry events to catch up with other professionals in the industry and share news and ideas with them. My favourite marketing podcasts are The Digital Marketing School with Neil Patel and the Digital Marketer Podcast. But the podcast I listen every single day without a fail is Squiz. It’s a general news podcast, but they’re fantastic!
What economic and social value does the internet deliver to you?
The Internet has become a part of our lives and at this stage it’s hard to imagine a day without going online. From being able to connect to my family and friends overseas, to quick and easy access to the news, services and information, access to internet banking, service booking, shopping. Needless to say, my business is built around digital experience and internet usage and data analytics.
If you could tell your fellow .au members one thing, what would it be?
Learn more about cybersecurity and don’t forget to pass this knowledge to others, especially your kids. It’s as important in the current world as road safety or rules about talking to a stranger on the street.
