Why Become an auDA Accredited Registrar?

There are two reasons for becoming an auDA accredited registrar:

  • Registrars have direct access to the registry database operated by Afilias Australia.
  • Registrars can purchase .au domains at the "wholesale" price offered by Afilias Australia.

How to Apply for Registrar Accreditation

The Registrar Accreditation Application package comprises the following documents:

The application form explains the accreditation criteria and process, step by step. If you have any questions, please contact accreditation@auda.org.au. Please make sure you have read the application form before you contact auDA.

A copy of the Registry-Registrar Agreement and other information about the registry-registrar technical interface is available from Afilias Australia. Please note that you will not be able to access Afilias Australia's systems until you have been provisionally accredited by auDA.

Accreditation costs:

  • application fee to auDA of AUD$2,200 (GST inc) - non-refundable
  • annual licence fee to auDA of AUD$3,300 (GST inc)
  • starting balance with Afilias of AUD$10,000.

Applicants must also meet the cost of any technical development, staff training etc required to obtain accreditation.
