Melbourne, 29 January 2002 – auDA has today assumed technical and administrative responsibility for the org.au and id.au second level domains, from former .au delegate Mr Robert Elz.

β€œOn behalf of the Australian Internet community, auDA would like to acknowledge Mr Elz for providing service in these domains on a purely voluntary basis for more than 15 years,” said auDA CEO, Chris Disspain.

org.au services
From today, all domain name registration and re-delegation services in org.au are being managed by auDA, using the existing AUNIC system, as an interim measure until the new AusRegistry system becomes operational later this year.

  • Re-delegation requests that were submitted before 26 January 2002 and have not been actioned, should be resubmitted using the form at http://www.aunic.net/dd.html
  • Registration applications do not need to be resubmitted. auDA is currently working through the backlog of pending applications and will be in touch with all applicants as soon as possible.
