Your .au domain name can be cancelled at any time during the licence period at your request.

To cancel a .au domain licence you will need to lodge a request to your registrar.

The registrar must cancel the domain licence within two days of receiving the request.

If you cancel your domain licence outside of the 3-day cooling off period which applies to newly registered names, you are not eligible to a refund for the remaining license period.

Restoring a cancelled licence

If you change your mind about cancelling a licence, you can request to restore a domain within two calendar days of the licence being cancelled by the registrar. The registrar may charge you a fee to restore a cancelled name.
