Bruce Tonkin
Bruce Tonkin is the Chief Executive Officer of auDA. Prior to taking on the CEO role, Bruce served as auDA's Chief Operating Officer from 2018 to 2024, where he was responsible for the operations of the .au. Before joining auDA, Bruce was Chief Technology Officer and Chief Strategy Officer at Melbourne IT, and he served on the Board of ICANN for nine years. ICANN is the Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers; it manages the global domain name and IP addressing system for the internet. Bruce also has extensive experience taking cloud based services to global markets across the USA, Europe, and Asia for both SMBs and Enterprises.
Chandni Gupta
Chandni is the Deputy CEO and Digital Policy Director at the Consumer Policy Research Centre, Australia’s only dedicated consumer policy think tank. She has previously worked at the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, the OECD and the United Nations. With over 15 years of experience in consumer policy domestically and internationally, Chandni’s research in the digital fora focuses on exploring the consumer shift from the analogue towards the digital economy, the impact of deceptive and manipulative online design on consumers and the key gaps that currently exist in Australia’s consumer protections.
Sophie Mitchell (Moderator)
Sophie Mitchell is the Chief Communications Officer at auDA, where she is responsible for corporate communications, member and stakeholder engagement, internet and public policy, media relations and marketing. Sophie is committed to raising awareness of auDA’s work, growing trust and confidence in the .au and expanding auDA’s strategic partnerships both locally and abroad. She has strong experience providing corporate communications, government relations and strategic reputation and issues management advice to businesses and executives across a range of sectors.
