The Australian Internet Governance Forum (auIGF) Multistakeholder Steering Committee (MSSC) is pleased to announce that the auIGF 2026 will be held at the QT Canberra and online on 22 and 23 September 2026.

The auIGF is Australia’s national Internet Governance Forum, bringing together stakeholders from government, industry, civil society, academia and the technical community to discuss public policy issues relating to the Internet in Australia. Modelled on the global Internet Governance Forum, the auIGF supports an open, inclusive and multistakeholder approach to shaping Australia’s digital future.

“A resilient Internet for all Australians” is the theme for this year’s event.

As the Internet continues to evolve in complexity and importance, auIGF 2026 will bring the community together to consider how Australia can foster a more resilient, inclusive and people-centred Internet. This year’s forum will provide an opportunity to explore what resilience means in practice across Australia’s digital environment - from institutions and infrastructure, to policy, participation and trust.

The MSSC will soon announce the call for session proposals, inviting the community to help shape the auIGF 2026 program. We encourage anyone interested in contributing to start considering ideas for sessions, workshops and discussions aligned with this year’s theme.

Further details, including the call for sessions, will be announced soon.
