Applications open for auDA’s 2025 Community Grant Program

auDA has today opened applications for its 2025 Community Grant Program.

auDA’s Community Grant Program supports community-led education and research activities that will enhance the benefits of the internet for Australians through digital inclusion and innovation.

This year auDA has increased grant funding to $50,000 per project, from $40,000, and will award $750,000 across 15 projects. Eligible projects must benefit one or more of five community groups:

  • Rural, regional, and remote Australians
  • Australians living with disability
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
  • Older Australians (65+ years)
  • Young Australians (12-24 years).

Applications are open to not-for-profit organisations and research institutions registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profit Commission (ACNC) and auDA welcomes projects that have a broader positive impact on environmental sustainability.

auDA Public Benefit Program Committee Chair Sandra Davey said, “auDA’s Community Grant Program has provided $5.1 million in funding over 185 projects since 2006, positively impacting digital inclusion and innovation across Australia. We’re really looking forward, again, to receiving applications for the next round of projects that will help Australians access the benefits of the internet.”

auDA CEO Dr Bruce Tonkin said, “At auDA, we seek to positively impact our ecosystem and work to benefit all Australians. Through auDA’s Community Grant Project, we support community-led projects that help under-served communities gain greater value from the internet. This year we’ve increased the grant amount to $50,000, which will be awarded to 15 new projects to support them in making a positive impact for Australians.”

The Community Grant Program Guidelines are available on the auDA website. Applications close on 1 September 2025.

The Community Grant Program has distributed more than $5.1 million, supporting over 185 projects, since 2006.
