Applications for auDA’s 2026 Community Grant Program open today, with $750,000 in funding available for projects that deliver tangible benefits for under-served communities.
The annual Community Grant Program supports community-led research and education projects that enhance the benefits of the internet for under-served communities. In 2026, auDA will award 15 grants of $50,000 for projects that benefit one or more of four community groups:
- Rural, regional and remote Australians
- Australians living with disability
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
- Young Australians (12-24 years).
Applications are open to not-for-profit organisations and research institutions registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profit Commission (ACNC). auDA welcomes projects that have a broader positive impact on environmental sustainability.
auDA CEO Dr Bruce Tonkin said, “Each year, auDA’s Community Grant Program supports organisations that work directly with under-served cohorts in Australian communities to increase digital inclusion. The program has already supported over 200 projects, and we look forward to receiving applications for the next set of projects that will make use of the internet and digital tools to deliver a positive impact for Australians.”
Since 2006, auDA’s Community Grant Program has supported over 200 projects and awarded $5.85 million in funding to community-led initiatives across Australia.
Applications open at 9am AEST on 1 August and close at 5pm AEST on 31 August 2026.

It delivers an annual grant round open to not-for-profit organisations and research institutions for community projects, education and research activities that unlock greater utility from the internet for Australians and support underserved communities. The Community Grant Program is part of auDA’s Public Benefit Program, which also delivers auDA’s Research and Development Grant Program and auDA Churchill Fellowships.
