auDA to host APTLD91 in Brisbane, 2027
auDA is delighted to announce it has been selected to hold the 91st Asia Pacific Top Level Domain Association (APTLD91) Members' Meeting in Brisbane, Australia in February 2027.
The event will bring together managers of country code Top Level Domains (ccTLDs) from across the Asia Pacific, such as .au (Australia), .pg (Papua New Guinea) and .jp (Japan), along with domain name registrars and registry service providers. The aim is to drive regional collaboration on critical technical, operations and policy issues shaping the domain name system in the Asia Pacific.
APTLD meetings are a flagship event for the Asia Pacific ccTLD community and provide a platform to strengthen the stability and security of the internet naming systems in the region, share intelligence, develop skills, and discuss policy matters related to the delivery of domain names and domain name services.
Securing the successful bid to host APTLD91 demonstrates auDA’s commitment to actively advocate for and participate in international internet governance processes that uphold an open, free, secure and globally interoperable internet. It follows the successful Asia Pacific Regional Internet Governance Forum (APrIGF) hosted by auDA in Australia in 2023.
auDA CEO Bruce Tonkin said: “auDA is thrilled to work with APTLD to host their 91st forum in Australia in early 2027. Strengthening the Asia Pacific domain name community and supporting capacity building in the sector are core to auDA’s commitment to drive positive impact in the ccTLD community and across the internet ecosystem.”
APTLD General Manager Phavanhna Douangboupha said: “auDA is a longstanding and active APTLD member and we are pleased to partner with them to host APTLD91. Bringing the forum to Australia will enable productive engagement among our members from across the Asia Pacific. We look forward to delivering an engaging, informative APTLD that enhances the internet in the region.”
auDA and APTLD will share more information on APTLD91, including how to get involved, in coming months. For updates, please see https://aptld.org/.
